Rachel, Nevada/Area 51 - Part I

We took a trip out to Rachel, Nevada along Hwy 93 and Nevada Highway 375 (the “Extraterrestrial Highway). Rachel is 151.4 miles north of Las Vegas Strip close to Nellis Air Force Range and Area 51.

At the junction of U.S. 93 and NV-318/NV-375, we stopped at an uncanny rest area with punchy character. E.T. Fresh Jerky “the best Alien jerky in Nevada” as they say. It seems like an endless range of jerky from Buffalo, Elk, Turkey, Venison, and Beef. We purchased few Alien jerky to help with their business.

Driving on NV-318, about 0.7mi on the corner of NV-318 and NV-375 we stopped to take photo of famous “Extraterrestrial Highway” sign.

Continue North on NV-375, we visited the Alien Research Center. Outside, a 35-foot-tall sheet metal alien sculpture named “Fred” invites curious travelers.

It’s a gift shop that sells UFO, SciFi and other probing items.

There is nothing around except a nearby ranch which is on a private property, viewable only from the highway; the rest is desert.

We’ll continue with part II, and tell you about Little Ale’Inn, Open Range, the Black Mailbox, etc.

Thanks for reading and enjoy the photos. Blessings!
